Al Fresco April: The UK's Best Seasonal Veg

This is the month al fresco really kicks off! What better way to embrace it than with some of the UK's best seasonal grown produce April has to offer.

Jersey royal potatoes, Beetroot, Spinach, Watercress, Parsnips, Spring onions, Artichoke, Kale, Radishes, Carrots, Rhubarb, Asparagus, Rocket, Chicory

We've picked our three favourite al fresco treats using this month's beautiful seasonal food.

Asparagus - Asparagus is the perfect finger food for eating in the garden - steam, bake or barbecue and use this beautiful bit of veg to dip in horseradish, garlic mayo, or ranch!

Kale crisps - Rip off the leaves and toss in olive oil and salt before baking for about 30 minutes. Add a bit of paprika or chilli flakes for that little something extra.

Jersey royal potatoes - These are so versatile and make a great finger food dipped in a sauce (garlic mayo is my preference). Place in boiling water; you'll have to check them regularly because the size determines how long you need to cook them. If you want a crispy version, cook them for 15 minutes in boiling water then fry in olive oil.

Edible flowers - While these can be tricky to find, if you can get your hands on them, they make a beautiful addition to any meal. Add them to ice cubes, butter, or salads! You can check these out in our No Place Like Home gift box here.
